Kids Day America has become more than just a community event. It’s a tradition that generations of Butler families have grown up attending together. This year marked the 25th annual celebration, held on May 10 at the Butler Farm Show grounds. Once again, the day brought together thousands of families for a few hours of fun, learning, and connection.

Brockley Dental Center was proud to be part of this special milestone. As a local dental practice that’s passionate about supporting our community, especially its youngest members, it was a privilege to participate and help promote healthy habits in an educational and energetic setting.

Did you visit our team at the Brockley Dental Center booth?

If you’ve lived in Butler for a while, chances are you’ve either attended Kids Day America or know someone who has. This free, family-focused event encourages healthy lifestyles, child safety, and environmental awareness, all through activities that kids enjoy.

The event featured:

  • Hands-on learning projects
  • Inflatable slides and hayrides
  • Musical performances
  • Cow Patty Bingo
  • The ever-popular Cruza for Kids car cruise, where kids serve as judges!

This year’s event also supported a fantastic cause: The Andrew Effect, a nonprofit that inspires K-8 children through creative, hands-on learning opportunities. Like Kids Day America, The Andrew Effect believes in the power of fun and imagination to help kids grow in confidence and curiosity.

Brockley Dental Center’s Role: Teaching Healthy Habits

Our team set up a booth focused on something we care deeply about: oral health education for children! We believe that the earlier kids learn about caring for their teeth, the better their long-term health will be.

At our booth, kids and parents could:

  • Learn how to brush and floss properly
  • Explore dental models that made learning interactive and fun
  • Talk about why visiting the dentist regularly is so important
  • Discover healthier habits, like choosing snacks and drinks with less sugar
  • Meet some members of our friendly team

One of the big hits was our “Rethink Your Drink” poster. It showed just how much sugar is hiding in popular drinks, which sparked some great conversations with kids and parents. Every child who visited also received a dental goodie bag with a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a few extras to help keep their smile shining.

We’re grateful for the chance to be part of these early learning moments, and we hope they help make a lasting difference!

Why Oral Health Education Matters for Kids

Helping kids understand the importance of taking care of their teeth is one of the best things we can do for their overall health. Tooth decay is one of the most common chronic conditions in children, but it’s also one of the most preventable. That’s why education plays such a key role.

When children learn why brushing, flossing, and making healthy food choices matter, they’re more likely to build habits that stick. And when parents get involved, those habits become part of the daily routine at home. By teaching kids in a fun and engaging way, like we did at Kids Day America, we give them the tools to make smart choices now and set the stage for a healthier future.

Early education doesn’t just help prevent cavities and gum disease. It also helps kids feel more confident at the dentist. Our goal is to make learning about dental care positive, approachable, and something the whole family can understand and support.

Keep Your Smile Shining!

While Kids Day America may come once a year, our commitment to children’s oral health is year-round. At Brockley Dental Center, we’re always here to help families build strong dental habits from the start, whether it’s through a friendly first visit, educational tips, or just making the dentist’s office a comfortable place for kids to be.

If your child stopped by our booth, or if you’re just ready to get your family on track with their dental care, we’d love to see you!

Feel free to schedule an appointment or give us a call with any questions. We’re honored to serve the Butler community and look forward to many more years of healthy smiles and happy memories.
